K59 corridor, El Salvador
A home on El Salvador's K59 coast — built by a Salvadoran family to share the land, the culture, and the waves with anyone who walks through the door.
A father, a daughter, and a dream of return
A Salvadoran-American family, a piece of coastline, and a house built to bring people home.
Solomon was born and raised in the interior of El Salvador, on a farm that's been in his family for six generations. He left during the civil war and built a new life in the United States — met his wife, started a family, and carried El Salvador with him the whole way.
Almost fifty years later, his daughter Mariposa — Kimmy to those who know her — returned to El Salvador with him, called back to nourish her roots. They have always loved the ocean and dreamed of having a home there. Together, they went looking for a home on the coast: somewhere they could share with family, community, travelers, creatives, and surfers alike.
In 2023, Flow House was born.
Every step of the journey — from Solomon's family farm, to Mariposa's return, to the house itself — was guided by hope, prayer, curiosity, and intuition. Solomon has a saying: go with the flow. It's not just an adage. It's a way of trusting the process and listening to the forces of nature around you.
One day, a friend brought Mariposa to see a new build in Taquillo. She knew instantly the place was special.
Three years later, the flow keeps flowing — now with an incredible team from across El Salvador and Latin America who fill the house with love, intention, and care. Both a state of mind and a way of being: welcome to the flow.
Why stay here
Not a hostel, not a resort — a home built on Salvadoran land, culture, and craft, two minutes from the water.
Walk ten minutes and you're at K59 and K61. Close to top breaks for all levels in La Libertad — El Zonte, El Sunzal, and Punta Roca are all a short drive.
Hosted by a global and local team who welcome you home — experience co-living with a shared kitchen, lounges, and a table big enough for the whole house.
Fast Wi-Fi, a big work table, and quiet corners for when you actually need to get things done.
Tropical surroundings — our home is nestled at the foothill of one of Taquillo's biggest mountains.
Simple, fresh meals with local ingredients. Nothing fussy — just good.
Surf lessons, cultural nights, nature tours, and the occasional cacao rituals — as much or as little as you want.
Every piece of furniture in the house was designed and built with a local artist, using native woods and materials. Nothing here came from a catalog — it's Salvadoran craftsmanship you can sit in, sleep in, and live in.
Being in relationship to the land and community around us is one of our top priorities. Flow House operates on solar energy to reduce our dependency on electricity. Our water system operates from the local water distribution, being sourced from natural springs. And in an effort to return food to the earth, we have a compost system from the kitchen to the land.

Flowing together
Move through your day as it unfolds - whether you’re exploring nature, surfing, working or resting, or catching sunset, it all happens in flow.
Flow House runs on rhythm, not rules. Some days start with a dawn session and end with a BBQ in the corridor; other days are quiet — a work day at the big table, a nap in a hammock. However the day goes, everyone eats at the same table, and nobody's a stranger for long. It's the same principle our founder built this house on — go with the flow — and it's still how the house runs today.
Guided sessions for every level, from first pop-up to advanced.
Shared meals around the big table — the heart of the house.
Local music, workshops, and gatherings through the week.
Open-air space for morning practice, whenever you need it.
A cacao ritual and a trip to a local farm — El Salvador's roots, not a spa treatment.

Taquillo is a rural beach town about 10 minutes from El Zonte. We love the local community and the authentic natural environment — away from busy streets and tourist traffic. There are a handful of amenities within walking distance: a couple of tiendas stocked with essentials like eggs, milk, grains, drinks, and produce, plus a produce truck that comes by with fresh goods. For food, there are small shops at the K59 & 61 point and a few pupuserías within walking or driving distance.
You can find what you need in the immediate area, but if there's something specific, we recommend picking it up from a store or another town before you arrive. Bus or taxi can get you to another town for more provisions — the nearest large supermarket is about 25–30 minutes away.
Need a grocery run or a ride for supplies? Just ask — we're happy to help.

“We stayed for 5 nights and since the very first moment we felt very welcomed by Gaston, who’s the house keeper at the moment. If you like cooking like me, this place has an outstanding kitchen with everything you can need. Every room has ceiling fans and A/C units, nice parking, amazing location, walkable distance to the beach. Definitely we loved it and we recommend it 700%.”
“Awesome place with a super homey feel. Only 1 private room with 2 beds and a 4 bed dorm. New and very clean. AC in the common area. Kitchen is super well equipped. Full time live in manager Gaston is a gem of a guy, Argentine that speaks fluent English, super helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I advise you have a car if staying here because it’s a bit of a walk to the local surf breaks. 10 minute walk to a pupusería and small store for basic groceries and supplies—doable but it’s pretty hot here!”
“We felt completely at home from the very first moment. Our host Mariposa has an incredibly big heart, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay. Be warned: when Gaston is around, the food mysteriously disappears — and fast! As true Argentinians, Gaston and Jose eat a lot of meat, so don't worry... there is always more than enough meat for everyone. The BBQ nights are absolutely insane — pure magic, great food, great laughs, and unforgettable evenings. Jose and Gaston live close to the house, and whenever they're around, it's guaranteed to be entertaining and full of laughter. If you book this place, you must ask Gaston to play you a song on his guitar. Trust us — you will laugh a lot. His lyrics are simply legendary. Highly recommended if you're looking for warmth, humor, amazing people, and unforgettable grill nights!”
“This is THE place! Having travelled to 50+ countries, my stay at FlowHouse is one of my favorite memories and experiences. It’s so so special. My friend and I surfed everyday, twice a day for 2 weeks, and loved the routine. The location was good for us without a car. The house is so lovely and has everything you need, including a very special community. Jose, the property manager is amazing, and so helpful to recommend when we should surf. Thank you FlowHouse, we’ll be back!”
“We loved our stay here at flow house. If you don’t mind being across the main road from the beach this place is the dream. Super clean, nice rooms, great kitchen, comfortable and great people to meet that want to surf K59 and share adventures. Would 10/10 come back here again. We rented mopeds to cruise around too which I would highly recommend.”
“Great accommodation if you plan to stay in the K59/K61/El Zonte area. The private suite is large, has comfortable beds, and offers direct access to the outdoor area. The kitchen is superbly equipped with every appliance you need, and outside there's a barbecue area. I recommend getting a car to be able to get to villages like El Zonte more flexibly. The hosts are always available and helpful. All in all, a great place to stay.”
